Document Preparation

When mediation is complete, I will prepare Your Marital Settlement Agreement. It will include your parenting responsibilities, distribution of your assets and debts, alimony / spousal support, child support, and any other issues you believe are necessary.

I can also prepare the forms required by the court. The forms include a petition for dissolution, an answer, two financial affidavits, a child support guidelines worksheet and parenting plan (if children are involved), and others. If you choose, you may prepare these forms on your own. In that case, I am available to assist you for my hourly mediation fee, if needed.

The Marital Settlement Agreement and the forms will be filed with the Clerk of the Court and your case will be set for final hearing. It typically takes four to six weeks to get a hearing. At the hearing, the judge will review your file and, assuming all issues have been resolved, will grant your divorce.
